Mariveles National High School (MNHS) – Poblacion, has made it to the Top 10 finalists for the World’s Best School Prizes 2025 under the category Supporting Healthy Lives for its school initiative dubbed Changing Lives Through Sports.
The school utilizes sports as a tool to combat addiction, poor habits, and mental health struggles while promoting leadership, discipline, and academic success. By actively engaging students in sports like basketball, volleyball, and sepak takraw, combined with leadership training, mental health workshops, symposiums, and flexible class schedules, students remain driven, motivated, self-aware, and confident—resulting in excellent performance both in and out of school.
Furthermore, the sports program has positively transformed the lives of many students—from overcoming bullying, depression, and addiction to becoming national champions and pursuing careers in sports and education—leading to a consistent rise in the school’s enrollment.
“It is in schools like Mariveles National High School – Poblacion where we find the innovations and expertise that give us hope for a better future,” said Vikas Pota, Founder of T4 Education. He also emphasized that a human-centered approach to education is more critical than ever in today’s rapidly changing world.
